Summary. Speech Buddy is designed for privacy: your and your child's information stays on your device. We operate no servers of our own, and the app sends no personal data to us or to any analytics or advertising service. The app contains no ads and no third-party tracking.
Account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, the app receives your email address and name (with your consent, via the sign-in provider) and stores them only on your device. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case the app only ever sees Apple's private relay address, or no address at all — it then stores a local identifier instead. If you use demo sign-in, the email and optional first name you type are stored only on your device.
Progress. Lesson progress (stars) is stored only on your device, keyed to the signed-in account.
Nothing else is collected. The app does not access the microphone, camera, contacts, or location, and does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising SDKs.
Accounts are created by adults; the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A child's first name may optionally be entered by the parent to personalize greetings; it is stored only on the device and never transmitted to us or anyone else. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws by design: no personal information from children is transmitted off the device.
When you choose to sign in, authentication happens directly between your device and the provider — Google using the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol, Apple using Sign in with Apple. The app receives only your email address and name, and does not receive your password or access to your mail, contacts, or any other account data. Each provider's own privacy policy governs its handling of your sign-in: Google and Apple.
We do not sell, rent, or share your or your child's personal information with anyone. Because the app keeps all data on your device and we operate no servers of our own, we have no access to your data at all.
All data lives on your device. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using “Delete Account & Data” inside the app, or by deleting the app from your device. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Sign-in uses HTTPS: Google sign-in uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, and Sign in with Apple is handled by Apple's own system authentication. The app stores no passwords and retains no sign-in tokens after authentication completes.
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because your data is stored only on your device and under your control, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For any privacy question or request, contact contact@noetirex.store.
